Choosing a business bank account is about more than just fees and features, for most of us, the app is where we actually do our banking day to day. So it’s worth knowing which providers have apps that people genuinely rate.
To find out, we looked at what comes up when you search “business banking” on both the Apple App Store and Google Play in the UK, and then ranked the results by their star ratings and review counts. The list below covers the most relevant apps on each platform.
A quick note before we start: this is not financial advice, and we’re not recommending one bank over another. We’re simply looking at how well each app is rated by the people using it. Ratings, review counts, and account fees all change over time, so always check the current figures and pricing before you sign up.
If you’re an Android user, feel free to skip straight down to the Android section, it’ll be more relevant to you.
The best business banking apps for iPhone
Here are the ten apps Apple surfaces first when you search for business banking on the UK App Store.
Ampere
Ampere is the very first result that appears, which is interesting given they’re not one of the better-known names. The main draw here is multi-currency banking. Despite the lower profile, the app is highly rated 4.9 stars from around 2,100 reviews so the people who use it clearly like it.
Lloyds
A high street bank with a surprisingly strong app: 4.8 stars from roughly 69,000 reviews. At the time of writing they were running an offer of no account fee for twelve months, then £8.50 a month afterwards. It’s genuinely impressive to see a traditional bank score this well on app quality.
Mettle (by NatWest)
Mettle is NatWest’s account aimed at freelancers and the self-employed, and it scores an excellent 4.9 stars from around 42,000 reviews. One thing to be aware of is a balance limit of £1 million, a lot of money, but worth knowing if it’s relevant to you.
HSBC Business Banking
Another high street name with a well-rated app: 4.7 stars from about 84,000 reviews. It offers the standard set of business banking features you’d expect, and HSBC sometimes runs special offers, so it can be worth checking the latest deals.
Revolut
Arguably the best-known neobank on the list, with 4.9 stars from around 56,000 reviews. Revolut is particularly strong on multi-currency, supporting roughly 35 currencies across 150 countries, and they’ve recently secured a UK banking licence. One thing to flag: while the app is free, the cheapest Revolut Business plan costs £10 a month, so factor that in.
Tide
The other major UK business neobank, scoring 4.8 stars from about 81,000 reviews. Tide has been pushing into a wide range of services beyond banking, accepting payments, card machines, and savings accounts. They claim more than two million sole traders, freelancers, and limited company directors use them.
Zempler Bank
A lesser-known neobank with a solid 4.7 stars from around 62,000 reviews. They offer the standard banking essentials and claim around 1.6 million people use them to manage their money (across both personal and business accounts).
Santander
Another high street option, rated 4.6 stars from roughly 12,000 reviews. It covers the standard business banking features, worth a look if their offering matches what you need.
Monzo
One of the UK’s best-known neobanks, and the standout for sheer volume of feedback: 4.9 stars from a remarkable 329,000 reviews. If you already have a personal Monzo account, opening a business account directly with them can be a straightforward route.
TSB
Rounding out the iPhone list with 4.8 stars from around 28,000 reviews. No standout offer at the time of writing, but the app is well-rated and covers everything you’d expect.
The best business banking apps for Android
Searching for business banking on Google Play in the UK brings up a slightly different set. Note that one result MoneyPoint Business Banking isn’t UK-based (it appears to be an African banking app), so we’ve left it out.
Lloyds
Lloyds appears on both platforms, which is a good sign of consistent quality. The Android app scores 4.7 stars, and they were running the same offer: no account fee for twelve months, then £8.50 a month afterwards.
Revolut
As you’d expect from a digital-first bank, Revolut rates well here too: 4.8 stars from around 44,000 reviews. All the features mentioned earlier apply, including card machines and a broad set of business tools.
HSBC Business Banking
Another cross-platform performer, with 4.7 stars and over 100,000 downloads, clearly a large customer base. As with iPhone, it’s worth checking whether they have any offers running.
Tide
Tide also shows up on Android, scoring 4.6 stars from roughly a million downloads. The app highlights accepting payments, savings, and a fully integrated UK business account.
Monzo
Monzo carries its strong reputation across to Android with 4.8 stars another reliably high-rated neobank.
The Co-operative Bank
A name that didn’t appear on the iPhone list, the Co-operative Bank scores 4.6 stars, though from a much smaller base of around 10,000 downloads and just over 930 reviews. They do sometimes run promotions, so it’s worth checking their current pricing.
Mettle (by NatWest)
Mettle features on Android too, with 4.8 stars and over 100,000 downloads. It integrates with FreeAgent, Xero, and QuickBooks for accounting, includes tools for estimating how much tax you owe, and was reportedly named best business banking provider at the British Bank Awards 2025.
At a glance

| Monzo | Neobank | 4.9 | 4.8 |
| TSB | High street | 4.8 | — |
| Co-operative Bank | High street | — | 4.6 |
Ratings reflect figures captured at the time of writing and will change over time.
A few takeaways
The neobanks: Monzo, Revolut, Tide, and Mettle, consistently rate among the highest, which is no surprise given they’re built app-first. But it’s genuinely striking how well some of the high street banks have done: Lloyds, HSBC, and TSB all hold their own on app quality, which wasn’t always the case a few years ago.
If app experience is a deciding factor for you, the good news is that you’re spoiled for choice, almost every option here sits at 4.6 stars or above. The bigger differences come down to fees, features, and which tools matter to your business, so weigh those alongside the ratings before deciding.

Today we’re looking at the best A mobile business banking apps in the UK for both the iPhone and for Android phones.
So we’re gonna start off here with the ten kind of top shown apps for the iPhone and then we’ll skip over to the Android apps over there.
If you’re an Android user, you can just skip ahead to that part as it’ll probably be more relevant to you.
But if you are just looking as a general bus- business banking customer which companies are… have highly rated apps, this should hopefully be helpful to you.
So let’s get started. We’re gonna go in and look at each of these kind of very briefly, and we’ll look at all, all of them across both platforms.
So Ampere is the top kind of shown app when we look for when you search for business banking on the Apple Store App Store we this is the first one that comes up and they show ten kind of ten apps that they think are the most relevant. So this is a multi kind of currency account is the main thing that they’re going for here.
They’re not one of the kind of best known banks, but they have an app that has a four point nine rating with two thousand and one hundred reviews.
So pretty good. And they have all the sort of things here. You can again search this on Apple itself. Lloyds, which is a high street bank, has surprisingly a very highly rated app, so four point eight out of sixty-nine thousand reviews, which is pretty good.
Age rating four plus. I’m not really sure what four-year-old is opening a a business bank account.
But anyways so you can see here, again, they’re gonna have all the sort of features that you want. If you’re looking for a highly rated app, though, that is there.
They also have a current at the time of recording, they have no account fee for twelve months and then eight pound fifty a month after that.
Definitely, surprising that they, a high street bank has such a highly rated app, but good for them. The next is Mettle, which is a bank by NatWest.
So this is their kind of like freelancer or self-employed kind of bank account. Again, the age rating of four plus, I’m not sure what’s going on there.
But four point nine, great. Forty-two thousand reviews.
Again, you can check out all the sort of things that they have here. I’m not sure if they have any kind of offers on at least they mention here. No, just standard sort of all the sort of things here that you need to know about them.
One thing to know is that you’re you have a balance limit of a million pounds, which is obviously a lot of money.
So you can see what features they have there. But again, a very highly rated app if you’re looking just into the apps here. HSBC Business Banking, again, another high street bank, four point seven, eighty-four thousand reviews.
Again, will offer all the sort of standard kind of banking things that you have here. I’m gonna link to a page which has the current kind of best business banking deals which you can check out. HSBC is sometimes there might be worth checking them out through that to see if you can get a special offer from them.
But no guarantees obviously. This is not financial advice at all. I’m not recommending one bank over another, just looking at the reviews.
So we’ve got Revolut, which is a, again, probably one of the arguably the best-known neobanks. Fifty-six thousand reviews, four point nine percent four point nine star rating here.
So they offer a huge range of options that you can do with your account. So they’re g-got a really good on multi-currency, but they, I believe, don’t quote me on this, but I believe that they have just gotten a UK banking license as well, so now they’re now a full bank as well. So thirty-five currencies across a hundred and fifty countries.
I use them on a personal basis. I do like them for that sort of thing, as I’ve never been a business banking customer.
One thing I should note about Revolut Business is that even their cheapest plan costs ten pounds a month, so you have to see if that’s worth it or not for you. The app says it’s free, but the actual account itself will, they will charge you ten pounds a month for it.
Just something to be aware of. Tide, another, probably the other best-known neobank in the UK for businesses.
They have a four point eight star operating, eighty-one thousand reviews. Again, they have all sorts of kind of payment things if you want. They’ve got ac-accepting payments.
They have card machines. They have savings accounts. They’re really pushing into a bunch of different kind of things here.
So they claim to have over two million sole traders and freelancers and limited companies director using them, so that’s a huge kind of number of people using it.
Again you can look into reviews about them. Zempler Bank, which is another kind of lesser-known kind of neobank. It’s a four point seven oper- rating with sixty-two thousand reviews.
Again, they offer the standard kind of banking things. Again, they claim one point six million people use them to manage their money.
That’s across both their personal and business accounts, I’m sure. Santander, so again, another kind of high street thing.
So four point six with just twelve thousand ratings twelve thousand, sorry, reviews. Again, they’ll offer sort of standard business banking things. You have to check them out to see if they offer what you want, but at least their app gets a good review.
We’ve got Monzo, again, one of the best known neobanks in the UK. Four point nine app rating, three hundred and twenty-nine thousand reviews, which is pretty bonkers.
That’s a huge number of people here. So they have accounts obviously for personal ones and business accounts. Again, if you’re currently a personal account thing, sometimes it’s just easier to open up a business account directly with them.
Their operating obviously is very high. And finally, TSB, so four point eight on twenty-eight thousand reviews. Again, standard sort of things here. You can see the sort of screens of their screenshots of their app.
So again, they don’t seem to have any kind of particular offer that they’ve mentioned here, but they have all the kind of information that you would necessarily need about them.
So that is our iPhone apps, at least the ones that Apple thinks are most relevant if you search for business banking on the UK Apple App Store.
Now going over to Google Play if you search for business banking, it’ll also be doing the exact same search. They bring up nine banks. This one here is bizarre.
So this is MoneyPoint Business Banking. So this is apparently a very popular banking app, but it is not UK-based. It is based in Africa.
I’m gonna guess probably Nigeria, but I’m not a hundred percent sure. So this is not relevant to us, so we’ll ignore that. Lloyds gets a four point seven. So again, Lloyds was in our iPhone thing, so both strong iPhone and Android apps, which is good.
Again, they’re offering that exact same offer that they had, so no account fee for twelve months and eight fifty pounds per month after that.
So it might be one kind of worth worth checking out, just having a look at it. You can, again, as I say, I’ll link to all the various business deals that are, or banking deals that are available.
But their app is highly rated. Revolut, again, expect with a kind of a digital first bank that they would have a high rating, and they do.
So four point eight, forty-four thousand reviews. Again, offering all the features we already talked about in the previous section here. They do have– they have card machines as well.
Got a bunch of other tools. I think they ha– I’m not sure if they allow stock trading and crypto stuff for businesses, but they certainly do for their personal accounts.
Excuse me. HSBC Business Banking. Again, they were in our list from Apple, and they’re here with Android as well. Again very highly rated, four point seven stars, over a hundred thousand downloads.
So obviously loads of customers. Again, as I say, they sometimes have offers on. So again, I’ll link to the page where you can check out to see if they have anything going on.
Again, not financial advice. Tide as expected also here as well, again, for a digital first bank. App getting four point six stars, so a little slightly lower.
About a million downloads. Again, highlighting all the various sort of things here that they have. Accepting payments. You can do savings with them as well.
And their fully integrated UK bank account so offers a huge range of options. Now we are here with, what’s happened to our Okay, we seem to have lost one of them here as we’re doing this, but anyways. We’ve got Monzo.
So again, four point eight. Again digital-first bank. So as you’d expect highly rated here. So we can come in here to see see what they have. And then we’ve got the Co-operative Bank, which is one we didn’t see in our list over here on the iPhone.
But they are highly rated here. Only ten thousand downloads and only t- nine hundred and thirty-two reviews, so not a huge number, but four point six stars.
So they I mean I guess their their Android app is highly rated. They do sometimes also have specials on again, you might wanna see what their kind of pricing is and everything like that for you and see if that’s a right choice for you.
And finally, Mettle, which again, as I mentioned is the NatWest kind of small or freelancer kind of bank account. Four point eight stars, which is pretty good.
Hundred thousand downloads. Whole bunch of reviews. And you can see here the sort of things that they offer. They have integration with FreeAgent, Xero, and QuickBooks for your accounting and everything like that.
They offer things about like how much tax you owe and everything. And they were voted, apparently they voted the best business banking provider at the British Bank Awards twenty twenty-five, so whatever that means. So there you are. Those are the apps, the top-rated apps on both the iPhone for the iPhone and for Android.
If you have used any of these or there’s a particular banking app that you like, I’d love to hear it in the comment section below. I look forward to reading that. Thanks.
